Positioning large transfers
can be nerve wracking. Using the wet method gets you perfectly
printed decals without the clear film.

TRANSFER TO WET MEDIA PAPER
Begin by transferring the artwork onto the WetMedia Paper. Follow
the same procedures in the first four steps of the dry
method system: trim, transfer, smooth, and burnish.

PREPARE SURFACE
Use MicroSet, MicroSol or SolvaSet to prepare the surface and
soften the transfer allowing it to snuggle down.
Do not use excessive setting
solutions on the top of transfers because some inks will
bleed. By this we mean leaving puddles of setting solutions sit
on the transfer for long periods of time as is the common method
with water slide decals. If some setting solution gets on top
of the transfer for a couple minutes, this is NOT a problem.
NO GLOSS UNDERCOAT REQUIRED
Because there is no clear film to show silvering, no gloss coating
the model is required.

FLOAT TRANSFER INTO
POSITION
Apply just like any ordinary decal. Again, transfers may be damaged
by excessive setting solutions allowed to sit on the surface
of the transfer. Be careful not to apply any downward pressure
to the transfers while positioning, there is the possibility
that the pressure sensitive adhesive will grab the surface of
the model and stick. Just float the transfer into place.

BLOT
It is important to blot up excess setting solutions from the
surface of the transfer to prevent the setting solutions from
damaging the transfer. Allow to dry overnight.
IMPORTANT NOTES: A mist coat of lacquer can be applied
if desired, but a heavy, wet coat of lacquer can cause certain
colors to bleed.
Any acrylic clear can be used
without fear of color bleed. It is only wet coats of solvent
based clears that will cause problems. As with any
other finishing technique, a quick experiment on a scrap model
is recommended.
